Additional Information:

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been held at the Unicoi State Park, just north of Helen.  Each building has 20 rooms, so we will likely have one full building to ourselves.  There are 10 regular rooms on the lower level (2 double beds), and 10 loft rooms on the upper level (2 double beds plus loft with 2 single mattresses).  Rooms are $95 per night. Call 800-573-9659 for reservations.  Tell them you are with the Bartlett reunion group (group # 114374) to get reunion rates.  The lodge has a common area with tv and fireplace that we can use for games, gatherings.  Each room has a phone, tv, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion dispenser.  If you want to come early, or stay longer, same special rate is in effect.

OTHER FACILITIES:  We have reserved the Beach House at Unicoi for Friday through Sunday (courtesy of Sonny, Charlie, Bubba, Papa).  This is a large banquet room right on the lake with kitchen and bathroom facilities.  We will use this area for family gatherings on Friday and Saturday evenings, lunch time on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Sunday, and can be used at other times if the weather does not cooperate.  You may also use the Beach House to fix other meals to keep costs down but must bring your own supplies (including cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc.). The lodge has a restaurant that serves a buffet breakfast, buffet lunch with a la carte for late lunch, buffet dinner.  There are two beach areas – one near the Beach House, and one at the Craft Shack / Trading Post.  The park offers fishing, canoes, paddleboats, craft activities, campfires, hayrides, and campground.  Alcoholic beverages are allowed only in the Beach House or lodge rooms- BYOB.  Wine served at restaurant.

SCHEDULE:  See enclosed for tentative schedule.  We are still fine-tuning but this will give you an idea of when free time is.  Keep in mind that this is the July 4th holiday weekend.  We would strongly suggest that you call ahead for reservations on some events.  Horseback riding, for example, is available – 1 hour rides at 9, 11, 1, 3, or 5 - $20 per person – but call ahead to reserve.  If you’d like to try out the golf course before the tournament, call ahead for tee times.  We’ve included lots of brochures in your packet for you to review.  There is a lot to do in the area.  Your biggest challenge will be having enough time to fit it all in!

REMINDERS:

  • Bring a plain white t-shirt for each person in your party
