Update: 8/12/2009: Hello Bartlett Family!!!
LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!!! We are pleased to announce that we currently have about 60 people confirmed for this year's reunion. WOW!!! Here is the latest and greatest information available: We have reserved the Bordeaux Dining Room for Friday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday evening with the stipulation that we partake of their menu/buffets during those scheduled meal times to avoid room rental fees. Please note that everyone will be responsible their own meals during the reunion. We have reserved the Convention Center for the full day and evening on Saturday so that you can stay out of the heat and catch up, etc. If anyone would like to plan some events for the younger ones, please feel free to utilize this space for that purpose as well. Here's a glance at our tentative schedule of events: Friday: Check in. Meet in the Bordeaux Dining Room between 4 and 9 pm for dinner and distribution of the T-shirts you ordered and your name badges. Attempt to start the horseshoes tournament before dusk so that we can have the finals on Saturday after golf. Saturday: Golfers meet for breakfast - beginning @ 7 am then head to the course for their 1st tee time @ 8:20 or 8:30 depending on the response I receive from possible participants. We currently have 4 tee times reserved and the tournament will be Captain's Choice. Please see Stan Bartlett for your scheduled times and team assignments. (336-337-0562) Other Saturday Events: Tennis, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Skeet Shooting Range (fee), Croquet - See Kathy Kukor. Boat rentals are available at Savannah Lakes Marina - 864-391-3477 or Soap Creek Marina - 706-359-4100. Kids pool games in between events and before dinner. Meet at the Convention Center for awards and possible talent show, if time permits. Possible Cookout/Ice Cream Social - We will vote on this Friday at dinner. Pass the baton to the next reunion organizer(s). Sunday: Meet for breakfast and say goodbye to those who are checking out due to school and work schedules. No planned events for Sunday afternoon. Suggestions: Pontoon Rentals, (contact information listed above) more horseshoes. We are very excited about the positive response we have received for this event. UPDATE 1/6/09: Hello everyone: We have sent emails to the first cousins and to Beverly's children with an assignment for them to notify their children and grandchildren of our upcoming reunion and to gather information regarding the events that may be scheduled based on your response. So, check your emails and get back to us ASAP. We've put a deadline of 2/15/09 for your response in order for us to order T-shirts, book tee times, order trophies/medals, etc. If we did not have your email address, no worries, we sent the announcement and information request form by the US Postal service to those. We've placed our contact information on the announcement page, so feel free to to contact us with any questions you may have. Remember to check this webpage periodically for updates.
As Brent has mentioned, we are in the planning stages of our 2009 reunion and to keep everyone in the loop, we want you all to be on the lookout for your invitation by mail and through the 'EVITE' method of communication through your individual emails between now and February. The written invitation will formally request updated information for all family members to ensure that we do not leave anyone out during the invitation process. We're really looking forward to hearing from and seeing all of you again. Please mark your calendars for the dates below and try to plan accordingly as we're extending the reunion to include Sunday night to allow for some huggin', kissin' and additional time to catch up. Please stand by for updates as they become available.
All our love, _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Keith and I are in the planning stages for a reunion for next year in an effort try to get this tradition going again. We are working on securing the dates of August 28th (check-in date) through August 31st(check-out date) at Hickory Knob State Park Resort in SC. Rather than put this event off for another year, we’ve decided to grab whatever they had left and these dates were the only ones available for Summer 2009. |
